January 23 and 24 from 10:00 AM- 4:00 PM
All skill levels are welcome in this two day workshop at Churchtown Dairy, you will learn all steps necessary for making your own unique small quilt. We will explore traditional and freeform block styles, building your patchwork sewing skills for success on future projects.
This workshop is designed for people new to quilting and for those with experience. For my more experienced quilters; feel free to use the time as a Winter sewing retreat; working on your own sewing project with instruction as needed.
Breakfast snacks and a full, homemade hot lunch will be provided for you in the cozy farm kitchen on both days. So, come and settle in to a winter weekend of sewing bliss.
What you’ll need to bring to class:
Sewing machine in good working order
Approximately 2 yards each of two contrasting fabrics in cotton or light weight linen (no need to pre-wash)
Neutral color all purpose thread
Crib or craft size quilt batting
A basket of scrap fabrics will be available for you to add to your project
Check out your local library for these inspiring books:
Log Cabin Blocks by Katherine Marie Longtin
Free Form by Jessie Cutts
Modern Quilts Traditional Inspiration by Denyse Schmidt
